WILDE PEOPLE !

About the World Premiere of "WILDE PEOPLE!"

"WILDE PEOPLE"

Welcome to "WILDE PEOPLE!"  This website invites you to learn about a new play celebrating the infamous playwright, Oscar Wilde.  Written as a revue, the show celebrates the brilliance of this great Irish-English writer, and the unforgettable characters he created.

Wilde loved the life of sophistication, elegance, privilege, and "triviality".  His characters are like no others on any stage.  They are his mouthpieces to extol his celebration of the beautiful, the fashionable, the admirable...and, sometimes, not so admirable.  Oscar Wilde's own life attracted as much attention as his writings.  This play investigates not only his work but his own "wilde" existence.

The play opened for the first time on any stage at the INDIO PERFORMING ARTS CENTER.  Located at the corner of Fargo Street and Indio Boulevard, this theatre is hard at work presenting an enormous variety of productions.

"WILDE PEOPLE" opened to the public on Friday, March 5, 2010.
